Tianzhen County

    Situated in the Northeast of Shanxi, Tianzhen county is at the crisscross of Shaxi, Heibei, Inner Mongolian, under the jurisdiction of Datong city. It covers an area of 1635.1 square kilometers,54 kilometers from east to west,65 kilometers from north to south.The height above the sea level is 976—2016 meters. There are 11 towns, 221 villages under its jurisdiction, it has the total population of 207300, with 175600 peasants. The whole county has 60,0000 hectares of cultivated area , with irrigated land, 220000 hectares. It is the state poverty-relief key county and one of national controlling sources of dust storms affecting Beijing and Tianjin , capital water resource implementation county, it is also the Yanmenguan animal husbandry ecological economic zone of Shanxi .
    It belongs to continental monsoon climate of northern temperate zone, half arid district, the average temperature of the whole year is 6.08 ℃. Main agricultural products are maize , potato , vegetables , oil , small food grains other than rice and wheat , marigold , meat , fruit ,etc.
    It is the base of environment-friendly vegetables of the whole province, and also the environment-friendly vegetables Beijing Municipal Government confirms that go to the capital. It is demonstration base of " the project of thousand counties " in the whole country at the same time. The major industrial products has carbon ammonium , methanol , wine , car fittings , graphite electrode, expansion graphite , leather products , plural compound fertilizer ,etc… There are no coal resources in the underground, but other mineral resources are very abundant.
    There are 39 kinds of proven mineral deposit. Among them lead , zinc , iron , silver , graphite , marble , olivine , apatite , cloud rock , quartz , peat ,etc. have great mining value . Among them the granite is large in reserves with 20 varieties such as Venus dark , green spiral shell green , and so on. The iron ore resource reserves are abundant, 25 ore mines have already been verified now, grade average is in 25.67 grams / ton, the total resources amount are 3,340,000 tons, seven ore mines have finished auction. Especially Maquanyang terrestrial heating mineral water contains 28 kinds of beneficial microelements to human body of lithium , strontium , etc., it is the high-quality compounding natural mineral water, extraction value is very high. At present, the whole county has already built up two hot spring holidays with bathing, swimming , accommodation , recuperating . It has distinctive tourist resources in the county. Ciyun Temple established in the Tang Dynasty, Xianhua Temple build in Ming dynasty, Yuhuang pavilion, Huiqing tower, ancient Great Wall, beacon tower, hot spring holiday worth developing and sightseeing. It has very convenient transportation. There are Beijing—Baotou railway,Datong –Zhangjiakou,Tianzhen—Zoumayi two states in it.
